“Summer time and the livin’ is easy.” That’s right, it’s time to kick back, unwind, enjoy some boat drinks and leisurely days by the pool or at the beach. Whatever makes you slow down and breathe deeper, summer is truly the time to do more of that.
Some great ideas we recommend for relaxing and rejuvenating during this season include:
Relive Your Childhood
What were some of your favorite summer activities as a child? Riding bikes, chasing fireflies, going to amusement parks, swimming? Do those activities with your own family, friends or just by yourself. Reconnect to the fun-loving child who still lives inside of you.
Spend Time Near Water
Whether you live by the ocean, have a backyard pool, or simply can pull up a chair next to a stream or river, spending time near water helps you to slow down and relax. If you can’t find any water near you, even a little desktop water fountain or listening to water sounds through your Air Pods can feel soothing.
Eat Fresh
Summer is a great time to enjoy fresh local produce from farmers markets and fruit and vegetable stands. Additionally it can be a wonderful time to experiment with your own herb or vegetable gardens. See if you can make at least one meal a week from all local veggies and fruits.
Take a Vacation, Baecation or Staycation
Whether you prefer the beach, the mountains, or a lake house retreat, try to plan a trip that helps the knots in your shoulders untangle. If you can’t swing a big vacation, why not be intentional about enjoying the special activities in your own city or town? Having a picnic in the park, attending a music or art festival, or even enjoying a local museum or café can add some breathing room into your summer.
Indulge in Fiction
Allow yourself to read all the beach reads this summer. Maybe you usually read for school, work or self-development and rarely read for pleasure. Well don’t underestimate the truly indulgent feeling of a good beach read. Need some recommendations? Try Elin Hilderbrand, Jane Green, or Mary Kay Andrews.
Upgrade Your Loungewear
If your loungewear consists of stretched out yoga pants and your boyfriend’s t-shirt, we recommend an upgrade. When you look better you feel better, so why not try adding a little bit of feminine simplicity to your loungewear with our beautiful pajama collection.
